Privacy Policy for Freestyle Rap

Last updated: June 28, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the Freestyle Rap app (the "Application") for mobile devices, provided by Lyricspiration and Khonsu Development (the "Service Provider"). The Application is supported by ads and is provided "AS IS".

What information does the Application process and why?

Information you provide

You can use most features of the Application without creating a Google account. If you contact the Service Provider (for example, by email), the Service Provider will process the information you provide in your message to respond to you.

If you choose to sign in with Google, the Application processes information from your Google account (such as your email address and profile photo) to show your account in the app and to link purchases and preferences to your account.

Optional Google account, purchases, and cloud sync

Signing in with Google is optional for training features, but required before you can buy beats in the Beat Store. When you sign in, the Application links your Google account to a Firebase user profile and may store the following in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Functions), associated with your Firebase user ID:

  • Purchase entitlements: which beats you have unlocked, and metadata needed to verify Google Play purchases and prevent duplicate grants (for example, purchase tokens and product IDs).
  • Favorite beats: the list of beat IDs you mark as favorites, so favorites can sync across your devices when you use the same Google account.

Payment card details are processed by Google Play, not by the Service Provider. The Service Provider does not receive your full payment credentials.

If you sign out of Google in the Application, cloud sync for favorites stops. Favorites already stored on your device remain there. Purchase entitlements remain linked to your Google account and are available again when you sign back in with the same account.

Anonymous app session

The Application may sign you in anonymously to Firebase when you open it. This anonymous session helps deliver beat content and protect backend access (for example, via Firebase App Check). It is not the same as signing in with Google and does not by itself store your favorites or purchases in the cloud.

Information stored on your device

The Application stores certain data locally on your device, including freestyle recordings, app settings, cached beat files, favorite beats (when you are not signed in or before sync completes), and purchase state used for offline access. Recordings are not uploaded to the Service Provider's servers.

Information collected automatically

The Application and its third-party service providers may process certain technical information automatically, such as device information (for example, device model, operating system version), IP address, app version, approximate location inferred from IP address, and identifiers associated with your device or app instance (for example, the advertising ID). This information is used to deliver ads, measure ad performance, improve stability, diagnose crashes, and understand how the Application is used.

Firebase Analytics may receive usage events (for example, which screens you open and freestyle session settings such as beat, language, and speed). These events do not include your audio recordings.

Does the Application collect precise real-time location?

The Application does not collect precise real-time location information (for example, GPS location).

Third-party services

The Application uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies. In particular:

  • Google AdMob
  • Google (Sign-In and account services)
  • Google Play (in-app purchases and billing)
  • Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check, and Storage for beat assets)

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, the Service Provider processes personal data under the following legal bases, depending on the purpose:

  • Consent: for ad-related identifiers and similar technologies where required, via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
  • Contract: to provide beat purchases, restore entitlements, and sync favorites when you sign in with Google.
  • Legitimate interests: to ensure security, prevent abuse, diagnose and fix crashes (for example, via Crashlytics), and understand aggregate app usage (for example, via Analytics).
  • Legal obligations: where processing is required to comply with applicable laws.

Consent management and opt-out

  • Manage consent (EEA/UK): if you are shown a consent prompt, you can typically review and update your choices in the Application's privacy settings (for example, a "Manage consent" option) where available.
  • Device controls: you can limit ad personalization via your device settings (for example, Android advertising settings).
  • Google account: you can sign out in the Application's account settings. To delete your account and remove cloud data linked to it, follow the steps on our account deletion page.
  • Uninstall: you can stop further data processing by uninstalling the Application. Local data on the device is removed when the app is uninstalled.

Data retention

Crash, analytics, and ad measurement data are processed by the third-party services listed above and retained according to their retention settings and policies. Purchase and favorites data stored in Firebase is kept for as long as needed to provide the service and enforce entitlements, unless you request deletion or the Service Provider no longer needs it for legal or operational reasons. The Service Provider retains communications (if you contact them) for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period thereafter.

Children

The Application is not intended for children and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, contact the Service Provider at hello@khonsu.eu.

Security

The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect information processed in connection with the Application. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as access, rectification, deletion, objection, restriction, and portability. If the GDPR (or UK GDPR) applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, including account deletion, see our account deletion page or contact hello@khonsu.eu.

International transfers

The third-party services used by the Application may process data on servers located in different countries. Where required, transfers are protected using appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will publish the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
